Primavera Workshop
Flora in Italia
June 2018
We will never forget the excitement of embarking on this adventure- our first ever international workshop! And of course it had to be in our beloved Italy…in the little known but stunning region of Le Marche….
We stayed in the most beautiful stone 18th century villa on a hill top overlooking verdant fields of sunflowers and olive groves. We held our workshops and long Italian lunches al fresco in the shade of towering trees. We went on a road trip to Tuscany, following the Piero della Francesco art trail, and ending up at the most stunning flower farm in the world- Puscina Flowers. We were made so welcome by the lovely sisters, Teresa, Mara and Laura- who provided a dream lunch of produce from their garden and cheese and wine from their Uncle’s neighbouring farm- and let us pick an abundance of lovely blooms from their fields. Back at the villa we created bouquets- which Zoe Southwood modelled for us in the olive groves- and table vessels for our feasts, hair crowns and wreathes- and floral meadow installations…. as well as exploring the local hill towns and museums and galleries….. bliss! We couldn’t wait to start planning our next overseas workshop….
